Hi. I have a question, touching upon the topic of translating payments.
The quality of texts translated may be different in cause of translator's having or having-not good experience base.
But I must be assure that the translated text which I payed for will be correct and fluent.
So, the question is: have you translator's ranking or some kind of it.
And is the prices ($ for 1 thousand figures) dependent of this ranking.

Best regards, Alex.

I also need to have an idea of rates, just an aproximation. I know there are several criteria such as: hourly rate which is $0.10 / per word in the US but also hourly rates or how fast you need the document translated. The last two criteria, I have no idea. Please help.
Thanks

Well, according to the rates statistics on this website the average rate is: 0.106 Euros per source word. I suggest you to pick a lower rate so you could compete. However, if you are highly qualified lowering your rates is a bad idea

i don't mind, mohdazlan i've been translating since 2007 and my rate is only 0.02 which is veeeery low. but since i often take large projects i can compete. too many freelance translators and you either need to be well known or your rate should be low i think

I'm sooo glad to have your reply. Well, as a beginner, actually not so because, currently I'm doing translation job for simple articles...English to Malay and vice versa which just coming from local U students and just that...so i'm way too far in catching up with you...lots to learn...before taking up any big projects like you do...BTW, how do you get the projects, are they totally from this site or you own your own translation business?

I know that I need to broaden my skills in this translation business if i want to get big projects like you, right?

Bye and thanks!!!

i receive job notifications from different translation related websites including this one. when you get a project from an outsourcer and you do the job well he will then contact you next time he's got a new project that's 100 %. so that's how it is
