What has made you become a freelancer? For many people the reason was that they have lost their job because of the economical crisis. For me personally it was the same. And what about you? And does it bring you enough of money for living?

I am a translator graduated from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik - Lebanon.
I am a freelancer because I think I can be paid fairly * I enjoy working on projects by myself.
Ps.: I am an employee so I am not working as a freelancer bcz I've lost my job..

It's same to me, too. I also have a job but I am a freelancer, bcz I want to be my own boss...

I've got a little different situation. I've become a mother recently and now I need to pay as much attention to my baby as I can. But since I spend most of the time at home freelacing seems to be my only opportunity. Besides I make pretty good money translating now and then, but ofc less than I used to earn on my permanent position.

Because there are less opportunities to be an inhouse translator in cameroon where I live. Thus the only way to make money as translator is freelancing. besides, I really enjoy doing that.

For me it was an opportunity to make some extra money at first while my business was taking off and I had no income. Gradually I began to like it, as it gave me a chance to meet new people and go to new places each time (interpretation).
